Company History

The New England Service Station and Automotive Repair Association (NESSARA) was formed as a 501c(6) non-profit organization in 1974. Originally named the Bay State Gasoline Dealers Association of Massachusetts, it was established to protect the rights of independent service station owners during the Oil Embargoes of the 1970’s. In 1992, the Bay State Gasoline Dealers Association of Massachusetts merged with the Tri State Gasoline Dealers of Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont to form what is now known as the New England Service Station and Automotive Repair Association (NESSARA).
Our members consist of Service Stations, Auto Repair Facilities, Convenience Stores, Auto Body Shops, and other automotive related businesses throughout New England. Our goals have remained the same for more than 41 years:
  • Keep the industry informed on all major issues that can have an impact on their busines
  • Create cost savings and revenue generating programs that help members enhance their bottom line
  • Lobby for and against legislation that will effect the day to day operations of our members
